Hat-trick hero Tarry takes Northampton past King's in U15s Cup Final — England Rugby Schools (@EngRugbySchools) March 16, 2023

Despite the majority of their tries being finished from only a few metres out, Northampton’s quality could not be questioned, playing the game with width, and cleverly manipulating the KCS defence to give themselves the field position needed to create their opportunities.

The obvious carrying power of Tarry was hugely impressive to see throughout, and as well as scoring he had made key breaks and repeatedly to over the gain line in the build up to the scores.

Shields, son of former Ulster, Northampton Saints, and Ireland prop Paul Shields, made an equally valuable contribution to the team, with the diminutive but slippery fly-half executing his passing and kicking almost perfectly and contributing 13 points to the team effort, including a touchline conversion.

Rawlinson undoubtedly also deserves an honourable mention for KCS. Scoring two fine tries in the first-half as he ran through unchallenged, and continuing to lead his troops with spirit when the odds were stacked against them in the second period.
