Bo Horvat was drafted by Vancouver Canucks in 2013. He was expected to be a two-way player. However, he has been a goal-scoring, power centre with some serious leadership chops in the OHL. His defensive capabilities at the NHL level were fine, but nothing to write home about. He has simply never been that player and expectations have been misplaced. It's always been unreasonable. The notion that HorVat is some two way prodigy is false. In fact, his OLC record with the London Knights was similar to the one that exists today.

Bo Horvat's defensive play is better than the average player. HorVat is also a better player than most offensive players. He is a player who scores a lot and also has to deal with matchup duties.

Bo Horvat's possession numbers have been in the negative this season, but he's still scoring more goals than he lets in.

Bo Horvat has been held to an impossible standard of expectation by Canucks fans. He is not the next Patrice Bergeron. He has a lot of potential. If he was, Canucks' fans wouldn't be disappointed with him. They wouldn’t be looking at him in the wrong way.
