Hawks vs. Blazers prediction and odds for Monday, January 30 (How to bet over/under)

The Atlanta Hawks and Portland Blazers meet in Portland on Monday night with two teams looking to get back into strong standing in their respective conference playoff pictures.

Trae Young is on the injury report for the Hawks with an ankle injury, so his status is up in the air, but he showed little issue playing at a high level on Saturday, torching the Clippers to the tune of 31 points and 10 assists. Can Atlanta stay hot on offense against a poor defense in the Blazers?

Hawks vs. Blazers prediction and pick

Young is on the injury report with right ankle soreness, but it’s expected he’ll play in this one given the betting market lists the Hawks as two-point underdogs in Portland. If and when he is ruled in, this game should be full of fireworks between two teams that can’t stop anyone on defense.

Over the last two weeks, these two teams have similar profiles, each top seven in points per 100 possessions and bottom six points allowed per 100 possessions, per Cleaning the Glass.

The Blazers offense is led by Damian Lillard, who is playing at an insanely high level, averaging more than 38 points per game over his last nine games. The Hawks defense won’t have answers as a unit to slow down Lillard, with someone like Young being hunted by the Blazers guard at will.

This total is in the high 230’s for good reason, but there’s only one way to play this game with two high powered point guards, and that’s over.
