Heat Check: Revisiting 3 Hurricanes' Hot Takes For 2022-23

Carolina Hurricanes are currently third in the Metropolitan Division. They have been hampered by injuries to Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and Frederik Andersen.

Frederik Andersen has been injured since early November. Kochetkov has played well in his absence. He's 10-1-4 this season. He has a good goals-against average and save percentage. When Andersen is healthy, he will play with Kochechkov.

The Hurricanes goalie is expected to win 39 games and have a save percentage of .925-plus in 2022-23.

Martin Necas has been spectacular to this point of the season. He leads the Hurricanes with 30 points (13 goals and 17 assists). Neca should easily eclipse the 60-point mark for the first time in his young career.

Necas is a talented forward who has a high ceiling. He is expected to set career-highs in goals and points this season.

Jack Drury has played 20 games for the Hurricanes this season and has only two assists. He helped the Chicago Wolves win the Calder Cup in 2021-22. Drry has time to turn it around and become a key contributor for Carolina on the fourth line.

Drury will score 15-plus goals in 2022-23.

The Hurricanes are currently top of the Metropolitan Division. They have a lot of injuries, but they are still finding ways to win. The team is led by Kochetkov and is playing well. Max Pacioretty is a few weeks away from joining the team. If they can keep this level of play and avoid any major injuries down the stretch, they should be in a great position to make another run at the Stanley Cup.
