Hessica scores in WVBC Cavada * The Racing Biz

Kristy Petty and her pony made brisk tracks up the Charles Town Races stretch after Saturday’s $125,000 West Virginia Breeders” Classic Cavada.

Hessica won the WVBC Cavada. It was the first stakes win of her career. She is a daughter of local sire Juba. The Sky Is Falling was favored. C V’s Powerpak was a vet scratch. There were seven horses entered in the Cavado. Boundtobeok and Moonlit Shadow were the front-runners. Jockey Antonio Lopez was able to get Hessica to the lead. They were a half-length ahead of the other horses. CV”s powerpak won. He was scratched. A third horse, Boundoobok, was also scratched, so the race was won by Moonlight Shadow.
