Hopeless Lakers call it quits, Spurs no longer a potential trade partner
The Los Angeles Lakers are 14-21 and 13th in the Conference. San Antonio Spurs are rebuilding and have missed several trade opportunities. Los Lakers want to make a blockbuster deal for Jakob Poeltl. Spurs want two first-round picks for Poetl, but they are not interested in giving up draft capital. Los Los Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook are unhappy with their team's performance. The Lakers have limited draft picks after the Anthony Davis trade. They are a play-in team at best. Their expectations are lofty. It's not like they can win the lottery.
