Horse racing tips: Sunday selections from Newsboy for cards at Exeter and Carlisle

Newsboy's Nap selection for Sunday, March 26, is the Joe Tizzard-trained Pedley Wood at Exeter (2.07). The next best is another runner at the Devon track, Revels Hill (3.52)

PEDLEY WOOD (2.07, nap) is fancied to gain compensation for short-head defeat at Hereford last month by beating five rivals for the Harcombe Handicap Hurdle at Exeter on Sunday.

Joe Tizzard’s top weight lost out in a photo-finish to Mole Court in a dramatic race – leader State Of Honor had departed at the final flight – but Pedley Wood has had just four tries over timber and can go one better from the same BHA mark of 98.

Later on the Devon card, look upwards with REVELS HILL (3.52, nb) in the Devon Stayers Handicap Chase.

This return to a marathon trip should be right up the street of Harry Fry's eight-year-old who is fancied to notch a third success over the larger obstacles.

The top weight ended last term with back-to-back wins in staying handicaps at Taunton and has made the frame in all three starts this term, finding the test inadequate when third in first-time cheekpieces at Ascot just over five weeks ago.
