HorseCenter: Belmont Stakes 2023, Met Mile top picks

This week on HorseCenter your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman offer analysis and top picks for Belmont Stakes 2023 and the Met Mile. The guys also discuss numerous other big-name horses who will be running at the Belmont Stakes racing festival.

The Belmont Stakes drew a field of nine 3-year-olds for the final leg of the Triple Crown. The top two favorites are from the barn of Todd Pletcher, who is trying to won the test of the champion for the fifth time with the top choice Forte or Tapit Trice. Trainer Brad Cox has three in the Belmont, including Angel of Empire, who was third in the Kentucky Derby.

The Met Mile (G1) has a field of nine older male handicap horses to go the one-turn mile led by the favorite Cody’s Wish, who has won five races in a row and three Grade 1s. Cody’s Wish is currently the top-ranked older Thoroughbred in the country.

Matt and Brian give out their top picks for the Belmont and Met Mile along with a couple of their favorite wagers for Friday and Saturday. Enjoy the racing festival at Belmont Park and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
