Hospitalized WWE Hall of Famer diagnosed with new, life-threatening complication

“Superstar” Billy Graham just can’t catch a break.

The WWE Hall of Famer remains hospitalized as he deals with a new health setback, based on the update posted Sunday night on his page.

Hello friends,

The latest update from Wayne’s wife Valerie is rather dire. In addition to Wayne’s on-going medical issues, resulting in them spending 200 dollars a day out of pocket for his care at a rehab hospital, they both now also have covid!

Valerie has used up all her sick and personal time at her job, and is no longer getting a paycheck while she is out with covid. In addition, she cannot visit Wayne due to having covid, and is having difficulty getting any updates on his condition. They are facing serious issues.

Please pray for them both. It is much appreciated.

If anyone can donate any amount, it would be tremendously appreciated at this critical time.

Thank you, and God Bless

As of Monday morning, the GoFundMe created to support Graham’s recovery fund had 130 contributions totaling more than $4,000. The goal is to raise $25,000.

Graham’s wife had posted an update last week on which didn’t paint a pretty picture.

Update on Wayne:

Thank you to all who have reached out for an update. We are in week 7…still no idea when he will be strong enough to come home. He’s lost more weight but they’ve upgraded his diet so I’ve started bringing him food and he’s been eating better the past few days.

Scheduled for an MRI in 2 weeks to check on the infection.

He’s just very tired which is understandable with all he’s been through but he’s remarkably determined to get better and get home!

It’s one day at a time and that’s enough

Thank you all for your continued prayers and love

Update to this post - I posted this update 5 hours ago, since that time my husband has developed chills, cough and nausea. Please pray for discernment for those caring for him tonight and for the Lords mercy to be on him. He’s been fighting so hard and God has brought him through so much….I know that our Father will bring him through whatever this is

The 79-year-old former WWF heavyweight champion started as bodybuilder before making his wrestling debut in 1970.

Here is Graham’s bio from the WWE:

“The man of the hour, the man with the power, too sweet to be sour!”

That was how Superstar Billy Graham described himself, and who could argue? Graham was perhaps the single-most influential performer in WWE history whose interviews, fashion and physique inspired Hulk Hogan, Jesse “The Body” Ventura and Scott Steiner.

Graham’s outrageous ring attire and Muhammad Ali-style interviews were a breath of fresh air during an era when sports-entertainment was much more bare-bones than it is today. Just as WWE fans flocked to see “Superstar” compete in the ring, so did they love to listen to him pontificate on the microphone, even if he was bad-mouthing the competitors they held dear.

With his equally-colorful manager, The Grand Wizard, at his side, Graham toppled Bruno Sammartino from his WWE Championship perch for the last time on April 30, 1977. He went on to hold the prize for nearly 10 months, the longest reign for any ring villain in WWE history to this day.

Clad in tie-dye and feathered boas, “Superstar” was a sign of things to come, boasting a chiseled, muscular physique that was very unique at the time. During the late 1980s, Graham made a brief return to WWE competition. He even enjoyed stints as a manager and broadcaster, but he’ll always be remembered by WWE fans as “the selection of perfection” and more importantly, WWE Hall of Famer.
