How to watch NASCAR Cup Series AdventHealth 400 (5/7/23): TV, time, odds, FREE live stream

NASCAR heads to Kansas Speedway on Sunday afternoon, kicking off a month that will include trips to Darlington (next week) and Charlotte (for the Coca Cola 600 on May 28) that will bookend the first visit to North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway since 1996.

After scraping the wall in practice at Kansas Speedway, William Byron proceeded to set the fastest time in qualifying, and will be joined on the front row by Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson for Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 at the Kansas City, Kansas, track.

Byron turned a lap of 179.206 mph on Saturday to earn his second pole of the season and the 10th of his career — amazingly, all of them coming at different tracks. The trick now is to turn that first-row starting spot into a victory at Kansas, where he got his first win in the Truck Series but has never finished better than sixth in NASCAR’s top series.

Race time is 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday, with FS1 providing the coverage and fubo TV (FREE seven-day trial) and DirecTV Stream live-streaming it.

Larson was among the fastest in qualifying as Chevrolet dominated the day. His lap of 179.170 was good enough for the second starting spot, while Ross Chastain qualified third in the Chevy-powered No. 1 car for Trackhouse Racing. Larson is the 4-1 favorite to win Sunday, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. He won the playoff race from the pole in 2021 and finished second in the spring race a year ago.

Keep an eye on the Toyotas. The two-car 23XI team swept the two races at Kansas City a year ago with Kurt Busch winning the spring event in the No. 45 and Bubba Wallace jumping into the same car and beating team co-owner Denny Hamlin in the fall race. Tyler Reddick is driving the same car this year, and never has the same car won at the same track three consecutive times each with a different driver. Add to that the fact that Martin Truex Jr. drove a Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing to victory in Monday’s rain-delayed race at Dover and there’s a lot to like about the momentum that Toyota has right now.

The forecast is for a high temperature around 90, according to the National Weather Service, which could make the race even more unpredictable.
