The Kings played their first game against Vegas last night. Todd McLellan's team was second to everything. The team is trying to find their identity. Last season's Kings were a volume-shooting team that won the puck possession battle. This season they are trying for something different. They are 60 minutes into the season. They play against Seattle tomorrow. It's not fair to compare the team from game one to last season, but it's the only comparable. Kings don't have to play the exact same way they did last year, they need to figure out what type of team they want to be. and how they can best win games with the group they have.

Gabe Vilardi is feeling good about his game and his teammates are excited for him. Todd McLellan and the coaching staff think he's a step faster this season. Iafallo and Byfield are looking forward to playing with him and think Vilard has made a big improvement over the summer. McLallan addressed the fourth goal in the game that led to the loss in more detail. There will be changes tomorrow. Brandt Clarke, Brendan Lemieux and Jaret Anderson-Dolan could play. The team didn't play well for 59 minutes. Vegas scored the winning goal.
