In Memoriam: Long-Time Fonner Announcer Steve Anderson Loses Battle With Cancer, Virginia's Glen Douglas Petty Passes At 65

Steve Anderson, 69, lost his battle with cancer on May 16, 2022. He was the announcer at Nebraska's Fonner Park since 2003. Glenn Douglas Petty, 65, died on 11 May, due to complications of lymphoma. He played an integral role in the industry's efforts to bring parimutuel wagering to the Commonwealth. His last race was on April 9. The Virginia Thoroughbred Association is mourning his passing. It was his job to be the Interim Executive Director of the Virginia Horse Center.
