Jamie McCart's new direction as former St Johnstone standout talks Rotherham and reflects on trophy haul

Jamie McCart won the Scottish Cup and League Cup with St Johnstone in the season 2020/21. He left McDiarmid Park in summer and is now playing for Rotherham United in English Championship. McCar reckons that even when he has retired, the magnitude of what he achieved two years ago will be difficult to comprehend. He believes it will probably never be done again. The club won two major trophies in one season. They also won a play-off to keep their top-flight status. It was a memorable season for them. Their European campaign was against Galatasaray. In their final game they beat Inverness.

Jamie McCart has been signed by Rotherham United. He won the Scottish Premiership with St Johnstone last season. Paul Warne has taken Rtherham into the Championship. McCar is relishing the challenge. He is confident he will make his mark on Warane's team. The defender has played at Rangers, Celtic and Hampden Park. His previous clubs include Norwich and Sunderland. They play Championship big boys Sheffield United and Norwich. It's a different level of fitness down here. But he is not fazed by big games. he believes Scottish football is downplayed. and he needs to accept that he's coming into a new league.
