Jets Favored on Road

The Winnipeg Jets are on an absolute tear right now, winning three straight games and eight of their last nine. Now, they hit the road to face off with the Montreal Canadiens, who are at the other end of the momentum spectrum.

While the Canadiens have won three out of their last five games, that comes on the heels of a seven-game losing streak. They’re fresh off a win but haven’t won back-to-back games in nearly two months.

While the Jets are a big favorite in the sportsbook, are they the best option for those who bet online?

Let’s check the latest NHL odds, stats, injury reports, and NHL lines for Jets vs Canadiens. We’ve plenty of NHL betting odds for you to consider.

Goaltending Pushes Jets to the Top

The Jets have been able to stay hot lately, thanks to their stellar goaltending. Connor Hellebuyck is having a phenomenal campaign as he’s 22-10-1 with a 2.37 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.

His record is the second-best amongst other goaltenders, his GAA is eighth and his save percentage is third. Not to mention that he’s tied for second in the NHL when it comes to shutouts.

He should have a relatively easier time on Tuesday as the Canadiens are not exactly the most explosive offense in the NHL. They’ve managed just 13 goals in their last six contests. Only one other team in the East (Columbus) has scored fewer goals this season.

Canadiens Continue to Struggle

Montreal ranks in the bottom five both offensively and defensively this season, which is why the Canadiens’ rebuild is not looking great.

Offensively, they have been led by Nick Suzuki, who has a team-high 37 points scored but is just one of two players over the 30-point threshold.

Flipping over to the other end, Montreal has been just as inconsistent defensively. Jake Allen leads the way with a 10-16-1 record with a 3.52 GAA and a .892 save percentage.

If he gets the nod here, he’ll have to be better than what we’ve seen out of him lately. He’s won just four out of his 12 starts during December and January.

Jets vs Canadiens Picks & Prediction

Those who bet online know that this isn’t a great matchup for the Canadiens. The Jets have been incredible on the defensive end of the ice, while Montreal struggles to find consistent offensive production from their skaters.

That makes the Jets the choice here for your NHL picks. If you don’t want to lay the juice, consider the under. Montreal hasn’t won back-to-back games since the end of November and it’s not likely to happen here.

Winnipeg is listed at -176 in our Vegas lines. This means that if you wager $100 on the Jets, you have a chance to win $57.14. Montreal is +155, offering a chance to win $155 on a $100 wager.

The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives the Canadiens a 39.22% chance to win, with the Jets at 65.64%.
