JIMMY CRUTE VS ALONZO MENIFIELD LOWDOWN

Jimmy Crute (12-3-1) has a chance to redeem himself after a disappointing performance on home soil. He fought to a draw with Alonzo Menifield (2023) on the UFC 284 card in Perth but was desperate for a win especially considering his last was back in October 2020. He got finished by Anthony Smith (2021) and the current champ Jamahal Hill (2021) so there is a lot on the line for him at the T-Mobile Arena.

Alonzo Menifield (13-3-1) has been wondering what could have been if he did not get a point deducted for grabbing the fence in the third round. In contrast to Crute, he was coming off two vintage first-round knockouts over Askar Mozharov (2022) and Misha Cirkunov (2022) showing shades of his true potential.

JIMMY CRUTE VS ALONZO MENIFIELD PREDICTION

In their first meeting, Crute had a clear game plan of getting Menifield on his back and he succeeded in six out of his 12 takedown attempts. However, while they were on the feet, Menifield’s power was plain to see knocking the Aussie down twice.

Besides the point deduction, the key in their fight was that Menifield was able to spring back up to his feet and inflict enough damage to sway the judges. Now Crute has tasted that power, he will be a lot more careful.

This could work against him as any hesitancy in front of a nuclear weapon like Menifield will only make him an easier target. Either way, the most likely outcomes are a Menifield knockout or a Crute decision / submission.

We are leaning towards Crute having a more polished and cautious strategy to grind out a decision, but considering Menifield is the underdog and has proved he can find the Aussie’s chin, he is the value pick.

Prediction: Crute via Decision

Value bet: Menifield via KO/TKO
