John Dobson: Stormers want to make Cape Town proud again

Stormers are defending their United Rugby Championship title against Connacht in Stellenbosch this weekend. Last season, the Cape-based side won the inaugural URC title by beating local rivals the Bulls in the final.

The Stormers won their first trophy in their history. They won the United Rugby Championship earlier in the year. The team will play in both the URC and the Champions Cup this season. Several of the current Springboks are unavailable at certain times. The schedule provides an opportunity for younger players and more experienced players. Dobson is a local and wants to do justice to the rugby culture in Western Cape. He wants the people of that region to be proud of what and who they represent.

John Dobson wants to produce Springboks and win titles for the Stormers. The team played a unique preseason tour in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape. They played South Western Districts and the Sharks. The tour was important for Dobon. He believes it was beneficial for players to spend time together off the field.
