John Henry's Infuriating Behavior Continues at Craig Breslow Press Conference

The Boston Red Sox officially kicked off a new era with Craig Breslow's introductory press conference on Thursday. While many Red Sox fans are excited to see what the new Chief Baseball Officer can do, that didn't stop some of the fanbase from being frustrated by owner John Henry's behavior at the presser.

Red Sox beat writer Chris Cotillo reports that when Henry was asked a question by a TV reporter, the 74-year-old "waved him off without saying a word." Such a rude gesture is only one of the plethora of reasons why Boston fans are growing tired of Henry's infuriating behavior.

There's really only one real question regarding Henry's latest stunt: if he wasn't interested in talking to the media, why bother even showing up to the press conference? After all, Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy was in attendance and he has no issue creating dialogue with reporters.

It's getting to the point where Henry is best left in the shadows. He's frustrated Boston fans several times in 2023 alone, mostly due to his inability to see that we want a competitive team to be proud of. The Red Sox failed to qualify for four of the last five postseasons, and then Henry has the nerve to wonder why he's getting booed in public.

It should've been a wake-up call for Henry when "at least 10" CBO candidates turned down interviews before Breslow was hired, per Boston Herald's Gabrielle Starr. When a team as storied as this one has external and internal rejections, something needs to change.

Time will tell if Henry learns from his mistakes. Aside from the owner's rudeness, Breslow's introduction went off without a hitch, leaving Boston fans feeling a lot more confident about the franchise than they did when Chaim Bloom was manning the ship.

In the meantime, hopefully Henry doesn't give us any more reasons to boo him going forward.
