Joseph Goodman: 2022 was a season of Nick Saban failures

Alabama didn't make the College Football Playoff. The team was close to winning the national championship this season. It was a season of heartbreak for the Crimson Tide. The best collection of players doesn't always win. TCU won the championship. Alabama was ranked among the top four teams in one important category. College football isn't about TV ratings, star power or name recognition. Joseph Goodman thinks it's for best that Alabama is out. He thinks the team might have been one of the worst-coached teams. For him, it was the season where the intangible nature of competition is why we are drawn to these games.
