'Joy' as Brits flood back to Benidorm after Covid pandemic brought resort 'to its knees'

Brits are flooding back to Benidorm after 20-month absence. The resort was almost brought to its knees by the pandemic. Testing rules were relaxed for fully vaccinated visitors. Pub owner Scott O'Brien declares: "At last, the Brits have returned". Bride-to-be Jade Fieldhouse, from Warrington, and 16 friends flew to the resort on Wednesday.

Health minister Ana Barcelo said cases started rising when UK tourists began arriving. Scott said it's nonsense and everyone is still wearing masks. Mayor Toni Perez said there are no incidents concerning tourist infections at hotels and apartments.
