Joy for punters as betting shops in England open their doors to customers again

Protective measures will be fully in place as betting shops reopen in England on Monday. Every branch of Coral, Ladbrokes, Betfred and Paddy Power will open for business. William Hill will reopening 734 shops in the UK on the same day. The shops have been closed since March 20. They open in time for Royal Ascot, which starts on Tuesday and before the Premier League returns on Wednesday evening. The protection measures include sneeze screens and limitations on customers. There are 2,445 betting stores in English. In Ireland 138 branches under the Coral and Ladrokes banner will begin trading again.

Chisholm bookmakers will open 34 of their 36 shops on Monday. One of them remains closed due to staff shortages and another one is damaged following flooding. Around 70 per cent of Chishols' regular customers will come back in the first week. The shops will be open but closing at 8pm instead of 9.30pm to prevent staff burnout. They have put up posters and moved most of the seating and tables and have a notice on the door about the amount of people in their shops.
