Jozy Altidore Talks Up USA’s World Cup Chances, Soccer’s All-Time Greats

The FIFA World Cup starts in two weeks. This year's tournament takes place in Qatar. The USMNT missed the 2018 World and 2020 Olympics. Jozy Altidore played for the USNT from 2007 to 2019, scoring 42 goals in 115 appearances. Altidsore is currently a member of the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer. He recently launched an e-commerce company called Footymarket. It's an online soccer platform that connects fans, coaches, and players to it "RE-Commerce" platform. It offers members the chance to buy and sell pre-owned gear and equipment.

The World Cup is almost here. USMNT seems to have a bright young team.

Jozy Altidore thinks USA will play against England in the Group Stage. He thinks the team's average age is around 24 years old and there are more players playing in European leagues now. The difference between the current US team and Belgium, Denmark and Uruguay is experience.

Brenden Aaronson and Yunus Musah are going to play a big role for USA at the World Cup. They have surpassed expectations with their club teams over the past 12 months. They are good in the attacking third and in midfield.

Jozy Altidore has played in La Liga, the Prem, and the Netherlands. He was able to experience MLS 15 years ago when it was still playing in college football stadiums. There is still a cultural gap between the US and Europe.

Jozy Altidore is optimistic about USA's World Cup chances. Ronaldo, Gabriel Batistuta and Lionel Messi were the players that he most enjoyed playing against as a young player.
