Junior Tafa’s (4-1) UFC debut did not go to plan. He kicked off his professional career last year with four knockouts for different promotions. The last knockout before the call-up was over Tsuyoshi Kamiyama for Rizin. However, he could bring that form to the octagon. More so, Mohammed Usman did not let him, grinding out a unanimous decision.

Now he meets Parker Porter (14-8) who is coming off a first-round knockout. It came over Braxton Smith only three months ago and it came with great relief preventing a three-fight skid. After stringing together three unanimous decisions in a row, he got submitted by Jailton Almeida (2022) and then knocked out by Justin Tafa (2023). Now, he heads to Singapore seeking to get one back on his younger brother.

This will go one of two ways and that will be an early Tafa knockout or Porter will subdue him with his grappling.

Worryingly for Porter, Tafa packs the same power as his brother, but has more speed. He will be corked and ready to unleash on Porter’s chin as he shoots him. He is an accomplished striker and we are backing him to find a home for his hands.

However, Porter has the skills to make this look easy and is a no brainer for a pick. If he can take Tafa down early, a late finish is also likely.
