Fans do not expect much improvement in the Kansas City Royals standings, but they do hope to see progress from the younger players. They have a nice blossoming core with shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., first baseman Vinny Pasquantino and several starters.

They turn the ball over to Brad Keller, a 27-year-old righty who is 1-1 and has allowed three earned runs in 10.1 innings pitched. He leads a staff that is 16th in allowing 4.81 runs per game and a .750 OPS against but is 24th in allowing a .269 batting average.

Conversely, the offense is last in the league in scoring 2.87 runs per game carrying a .190 batting average and an OPS of .575, which is the second-worst in the league. The offense has been putrid, but MLB player stats show Pasquantino is 11 for 38 to lead the team, which is an encouraging sign.

The Royals are 2-3 on the road and 6-6 on over/unders this season.

The Rangers brought in several key arms during the offseason, which boosted Texas Rangers predictions. One of those arms is Nathan Eovaldi, the veteran righty who is 1-1 with five earned runs allowed in 10.2 innings and 12 strikeouts.

He leads a Rangers staff which ranks fifth in holding teams to 3.95 runs per game and generates 10.29 strikeouts per game, which ranks third. Teams are hitting .235 against them (eighth) with an OPS of .680 (seventh).

Offensively, the Rangers are scoring 6.06 runs per game, which ranks second. However, they are 13th with a .252 batting average and 15th with an OPS of .743.

They are 6-2 at home and 7-4 on over/unders.

The MLB injury report shows the Rangers could be without shortstop Corey Seager, who is questionable with a hamstring injury. That should not play a huge factor into the lineup as Texas is scoring runs in bunches, though it has a tough assignment on Wednesday.

Those who have made bets available publicly show the best Royals vs Rangers odds to bet are the Texas moneyline with 74% of bets, and another 68% are on the over. It is bold to see an over prediction given the Royals’ putrid offense and probably some regression from Keller against the Rangers’ lineup.

  • Our prediction is the Rangers win and the under.
