Kentucky Derby Festival 2024 Pegasus Pins, where to find it
The first batch of Kentucky Derby Festival 2024 Pegasus Pins are now on sale as part of the countdown to the 150th Kentucky Derby. Friday, the iconic symbol of the Kentucky Derby Festival, and your free entry into many of the Kentucky Derby Festival events were delivered to Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, 528 W. Main St., the first location you can purchase this year’s pin, which costs $7.
The Festival collaborated with Churchill Downs on the special pin design, which celebrates the historic run for the horse race. The pin features the Festival’s Pegasus symbol and official teal color along with the number “150th” in red, a signature color of the Kentucky Derby.
“The Kentucky Derby Festival is a monthlong celebration and nearly 70-year-old tradition that started because of the Kentucky Derby. We are honored to partner with Churchill Downs in creating a Pegasus Pin that marks this milestone and will also be a one-of-a-kind collector’s piece for both our community and our guests,” Matt Gibson, Kentucky Derby Festival president and CEO, said. “We hope everyone will 'Pin the Town Derby' and wear a Pegasus Pin in the spring to celebrate the historic time in our city."
The 2024 Pin also complements the design of the 1974 Pegasus Pin that honored the 100th Kentucky Derby.

Where can I buy a Pegasus Pin?
Beginning March 1, Pegasus Pins are available at grocery stores, gas stations, banks and other retail locations around Metro Louisville, Southern Indiana and surrounding areas. They can also be purchased online at PegasusPins.com.
How much does a Pegasus Pin cost?
The 2024 Pegasus Pin costs $7 in stores and retailers. Pins can also be purchased at KDF events for $10.
What is the Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Pin?
The Pegasus Pin was modeled after the Kentucky Derby Festival's traditional symbol of the Pegasus, which was established with the very first Pegasus Parade. Dubbed the "Pegasus" Parade for the winged horse of Greek mythology, the first event was to symbolize the magic, energy and excitement the festival hoped to generate before it was fully established.
What prizes can I win when I purchase a 2024 Pegasus Pin?
The Festival will give away a record 15 Grand Prizes over eight weeks and any 2024 Pegasus Pin can win. The prizes will be given away on Fridays beginning March 15, through May 3, on WAVE-TV. To be eligible for the drawings, fans need to register their pins online at PegasusPins.com.

Heaven Hill Distillery has also produced a special Evan Williams Single Barrel Limited Edition Kentucky Derby Festival Bourbon Bottle to commemorate the 52nd edition of the collectible pins. The bottle features a Gold Pegasus Pin sealed in silver wax on the neck of each bottle and an official 2024 Pegasus Pin in an envelope attached to the bottle.
