Kentucky online sports betting regulators pledge to “...to ensure the integrity of the system of sports wagering” ahead of 9/28 launch

Kentucky online sports betting launches on September 28th, and retail sports betting launched in Kentucky less than three weeks ago, on September 7th.

In the midst of this sudden and dramatic uptick in the prevalence of sports wagering across the Bluegrass State, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has pledged “...to uphold the integrity of the system of sports wagering,” in a document made public via the KHRC’s sports wagering regulations portal.

In a document that details Kentucky parameters for technical requirements and oversight of sports betting operators, Kentucky regulators also set plans for “maintaining and auditing books and financial records, securely maintaining records of bets and wagers...” and more.

Given the prevalence of heavily-funded ad campaigns for Kentucky sportsbook promotions that are specifically designed to appeal to first-time sports bettors, it is highly recommended that anyone considering wagering on sports in Kentucky carefully review the KHRC’s oversight guidelines, as well as Kentucky’s responsible gambling and advertising regulations.
