King George VI Chase Odds: Bravemansgame Drifts Out To 2/1
Bravemansgame has drifted out from 7/4 to 2/1 to win the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day after a final-fence blunder denied him a second consecutive Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
Paul Nicholls’ eight-year-old was targeted at the Grade 2 chase to start his season in identical fashion to last year, where went on to win the King George and moved on to the Cheltenham and Punchestown Gold Cups.
The odds-on favourite faced three rivals in the form of Gentlemansgame, Ahoy Senor and Midnight River on Saturday afternoon and despite travelling strongly throughout, the son of Brave Mansonnien was denied the spoils.
Gentlemansgame stayed on best to land the Charlie Hall Chase on just his third start over fences for jockey Darragh O’Keeffe and trainer Mouse Morris – who could now look to aim the seven-year-old at the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March.
According to the best horse racing betting sites, Bravemansgame is now as big as 2/1 to win the King George in December after being 7/4 pre-race.

The winner had the benefit of a run in the Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase at Gowran Park towards the end of September and the race-fitness proved the be the decisive edge as Bravemansgame landed a tied horse over the last.
Despite increased market support before the post, Ahoy Senor was outpaced going down the back straight for the final time and was pulled up by Derek Fox in disappointing fashion.
