Kings vs. Suns NBA expert prediction and odds for Tuesday, Jan. 16 (Trust Sacramento)

The Phoenix Suns are starting to find something now that Bradley Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are all healthy, but can they keep that going at home against the Sacramento Kings?

The Kings lost on a buzzer beater by Damian Lillard in overtime on Sunday, but they improved their record against the spread as a road underdog in the process.

De’Aaron Fox and company find themselves back in that same spot again on Tuesday against a Suns team that has won two straight and seven of its last 10 games.

Despite losing two games in a row, the Kings are still the No. 5 seed in the West, a few spots ahead of the Suns.

Let’s dive into the odds and my best bet for this matchup:

Kings injury report

Suns injury report

Sacramento Kings

Domantas Sabonis: Sabonis is playing some of the best basketball of his career, recording five triple-doubles since New Year’s Eve. Since Dec. 26 (11 games), Sabonis is averaging 23.1 points, 14.1 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game for the Kings.

Phoenix Suns

Bradley Beal: Is Beal finally finding his form in this injury-riddled season? The Suns star guard has scored 20 or more points in six of his last eight games, averaging 22.4 points on 44.4 percent shooting from 3 in that stretch. He could be in line for a big game against a Kings team that ranks 11th in pace and 17th in defensive rating.

The Kings have played eight games as a road dog this season, and they are an impressive 6-2 against the spread in those matchups.

This is a favorable matchup for Domantas Sabonis, as the Suns are in the middle of the pack in points in the paint allowed this season, and they lack true center depth behind Jusuf Nurkic.

I am concerned about Keegan Murray potentially missing this game, but the Kings have gotten great production from Malik Monk off the bench that could make up for it.

Phoenix is just 6-12 against the spread as a home favorite, and even with Beal, Booker and Durant healthy, the team has covered in just one of its last four games.

The Kings have the offensive firepower to keep up with this Suns team, and these teams are No. 15 and 16 in the NBA in defensive rating. I’ll gladly take the points in this matchup.
