Kings vs. Suns same-game parlay picks Feb. 13: Back Sacramento and a teased under

We have a heavyweight tilt between the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns highlighting the NBA's late slate.

The pregame narrative: Sacramento, a half-game behind Phoenix in the West, has played well on the road and we're tacking on some points to back them on an alternative spread. An alt under and a play on a sharpshooter round out the SGP picks.

NBA oddsas of 4:59 p.m. ET on 02/13/2024.

Kings vs. Suns same-game parlay

Parlay: Kings +6.5 + under 248.5 points + Grayson Allen over 1.5 threes (+390)

Kings +6.5 (-143): This already marks the fourth meeting between these two this season.

Here's how the first three played out:

Sacramento covered in all of those games. It should be noted that Bradley Beal was absent for both losses and Kevin Durant missed one.

That said, the Kings have played the Suns well and they're always a tough underdog. Sacramento is 9-6 against the spread as a 'dog this season. That 60% cover rate is the fifth-best mark in the NBA.

Phoenix is playing good ball while the Kings have been blown out in three of their last four games. But there's nothing to suggest another blowout is coming.

The main line is Kings +4.5 as of late Tuesday afternoon, which is a solid play in its own right. Getting a few extra points, though, makes this a far more comfortable leg.

Other parlay picks

Under 248.5 points (-165): This is the biggest total of the night at 244.5 and these teams haven't come close to touching it in their previous three games (220, 225, 236).

The Kings have been an over machine lately, going 5-0-1 in their last six.

But a concerted effort on defence is the path to victory tonight, so I'm expecting them to shore things up after allowing 127 to the Oklahoma City Thunder last game and 130-plus points in each of their last two losses before that.

Both teams are outside the top 10 in the NBA in cashing overs and the Suns have only topped this number in four of their last 15 games.

Regardless of the trends, this is a monster number to hit. Teams are averaging 115.5 points per game this season, according to Basketball Reference.

Grayson Allen over 1.5 threes (-190): Just because a teased under is a leg doesn't mean that I'm not expecting offence. The total is large and there will be plenty of scoring tonight.

Allen drilled a season-high nine 3-pointers in Phoenix's win over the Kings. The sharpshooter played them one other time this year and made three.

He's averaging 2.6 per game on a career-high 49% mark from long range.

The icing on the cake: Sacramento ranks last in the NBA in opponent 3-point percentage.
