Kitodan upsets Dueling Grounds Derby; Vergara battles back in Dueling Grounds Oaks

Kitodan upset the odds in the Dueling Grounds Derby. Vergara won the $500,000 Duelings Grounds Oaks. The Labor Day card was postponed by one day due to bad weather.  The event was held over 1 5/16 miles. Grand Sonata finished second, followed by Always Above, Dripping Gold, Ready to Purrform, Speaking Scout, Double Clutch, Running Bee, Red Run, Tallahatchiebridge, and Western River. It was the first time the event took place on the turf course.
