Knicks vs. Nets prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (Back the OVER)

The New York Knicks will play for the second time in as many days in the Las Vegas Summer League when they take on the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.

Brooklyn lost its first game of the Las Vegas Summer League to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but it did put up 97 points in the loss. Rookie first-round pick Noah Clowney struggled in that matchup, shooting just 1-for-9 from the field.

Can he turn things around against a Knicks team that is led by Isaiah Roby, DaQuan Jeffries and Trevor Keels?

Here are the latest odds and my best bet:

  • Nets -2.5 (-110)

Knicks vs. Nets prediction and pick

It’s a small sample size, but both of these offenses have been strong to start the Summer League, leading me to taking the OVER in this game.

New York scored 101 points despite shooting just 3-for-20 (15 percent) from beyond the arc against the Philadelphia 76ers. If the team sees a little bit of improvement from beyond the arc, it should be able to push triple digits again in this game.

On the Brooklyn side of things, Clowney should bounce back after a rough Summer League debut, and the team features a few players with NBA experience (David Duke Jr., Jamorko Pickett) that should be able to thrive alongside some of these young players.

The total at 188.5 suggests that at least one team will push 100 points, but these teams scored 198 combined points in their first games of the summer. Let’s roll with the OVER on Sunday.

Pick: OVER 188.5 (-110)
