The defensive line that started off hot collapsed. The loss hurts Day. He is 33-2 in Big Ten games as head coach. It's a long year for him. His future is uncertain.

Jim Harbaugh took a pay cut to stay at Michigan. He has since lost only two games and beaten Ohio State twice. Michigan is a lock to make the playoff.

The College Football Playoff is fairly straightforward. Georgia and Michigan are locks. TCU, if it plays tough against Kansas State, will be in. USC is the only remaining intriguing team. If the Trojans win the Pac-12 Championship Game, they're in the playoff. Ohio State is warming in a bullpen for chaos.

Caleb Williams was a long shot to win the Heisman Trophy, but he's now a serious contender. He was dazzling against Notre Dame and posed for the trophy on the sideline.

Matt Rhule is a good hire at Nebraska. It will be interesting to see how it impacts recruiting and when the momentum of the program changes.

The college football coaching carousel is getting weird. Free agency in college has made it more important to hire a coach earlier than before.

Clemson lost to South Carolina. The secondary was a mess. Shane Beamer deserves a lot of credit for the team's success.

Jordan Travis scored three touchdowns against Florida. Travis could declare for the draft or he could come back next year.

No. 4 USC is playing No. 12 Utah in the Pac-12 Championship. The first game between these two teams ended in a victory for Utah. USC has covered the spread in their last seven games. Utah has won three of the last four games and lost one.

TCU and Kansas State are playing for the Big 12 Championship. TCU won the last game by double digits. Since that game, Kansas has gone 4-1 SU and ATS.

No. 1 Georgia is playing in the SEC Championship against No. 11 LSU. Georgia didn't cover the 36.5-point spread against Georgia Tech. LSU's season came to an end at Texas A&M.

No. 2 Michigan is playing in the Big Ten Championship against Purdue. Michigan won the game against Ohio State on Saturday. Purdue has won seven of their past nine games. The Boilermakers have covered the spread in only two of the last five games, but they did not meet earlier in season.

Clemson is the favorite in the ACC Championship. North Carolina lost in double overtime to NC State. The Tar Heels have lost two straight games and failed to cover the spread in three of the past four.

No. 18 Tulane is a one-point underdog against No. 22 UCF. The game will be played at Tulain's home ground.

Boise State is playing in the Mountain West Championship. Boise State has covered the spread in six of the last eight games. Fresno State covered in five of seven games this season.

Sun Belt Championship: Troy (-7.5, 48) vs. Coastal Carolina. James Madison blasted the Chanticleers last week.
