Ky. Baptist leaders promise to stand strong against sports betting efforts
Kentucky Baptist leaders promise to fight a sports betting bill. The bill would legalize online sports gambling, poker and fantasy gambling. It's unclear whether the bill will be heard at the next legislative session. The session ends on February 7. Governor Andy Beshear supports sports betting. Senate President Robert Stivers has been critical of the measure in the past. Senator Damon Thayer has shown support for sports bets. There are 26 days left in this legislative period. Lawmakers will return to the Capitol on Feb. 7 with 26 more days of session left.
