La Liga betting tips: Goals on the menu with Real Sociedad and Sevilla in the mood to celebrate

As La Liga signs off after another thrilling season, football pundit Sergiu Baltuta, who runs SVB Tips on Tipstrr, expects Sevilla’s trip to Real Sociedad to serve up some entertaining football.

Real Sociedad and Sevilla have enjoyed a perfect end to their respective campaigns, with the Basque team clinching their place in Europe's premier competition by securing fourth place in La Liga with a game to spare.

Meanwhile, the Andalusians can also look forward to being seeded in next term's Champions League football after winning the Europa League for the seventh time by beating Roma on penalties after an unsavoury 1-1 draw in Budapest on Wednesday.

Before this final game, Sevilla are in 11th spot with a disappointing 49 points and will hope to improve that position, which perhaps has been affected by their protracted Europa League campaign.

Real Sociedad might take their foot off the pedal now their Champions League place is assured, but they will no doubt fancy their chances of beating a Sevilla team fatigued from their midweek exertions.

In this season's reverse fixture Real Sociedad beat Sevilla 2-1, their seventh straight tightly-contested head-to-head encounter that has seen four games decided by a one-goal margin along with three goalless draws.

Nevertheless it's worth adding that Sevilla are undefeated on their last four trips to San Sebastián, and given the huge boost in morale they received midweek they should be in the mood to extend this sequence.

The Txuri-Urdin team secured the fourth Champions League spot despite losing their previous La Liga game 2-1 at home to Atletico Madrid, a result that ended a seven-game unbeaten streak for Imanol Alguacil's team.

In addition, the White and Blue are undefeated in nine home games (won five, drawn four) since early February, when they unexpectedly lost against Valladolid (0-1).

Real Sociedad are one of the least spectacular teams in the Primera Division. With only 49 goals scored, the Basques have scored 20 goals fewer than any of the other top four teams, but at the same time only champions Barcelona (18) and Atletico Madrid (31) have conceded fewer than their 34 goals.

Imanol Alguacil is undefeated in his eight previous head-to-head encounters with Jose Luis Mendilibar (4 wins, 4 draws).

Before their dramatic Europa League triumph, Sevilla suffered a defeat in La Liga, 1-2 against Real Madrid, although that was their only defeat in the last eight outings, and could perhaps be explained and forgiven by their forthcoming final.

Sevilla have picked up 23 La Liga points on their travels this season (W6, D5, L7), and since losing at Getafe in mid-March they have won four and drawn three of their seven away games, finding the net in all of them.

With nothing at stake this game could go two ways: we could be in for a low-scoring yawnfest between two teams already on the beach, or maybe both sides could look to end their successful seasons on a high note by treating the fans to a potential goalfest.

Suggested bet: Over 2.5 Goals
