La Liga Preview: Futures, Best Bets, and More

The 2023-2024 La Liga season is set to be an exciting one and will be starting in just a couple of days. Real Madrid is looking to defend their title, while Barcelona hopes to return to the top. Other teams like Atletico Madrid will also be in the mix, as well as Sevilla, Valencia, and Real Sociedad all look to be possible top-four threats.

At the other end of the table, struggling teams like Granada, Alaves, and Las Palmas look to have a tough season ahead of them. Now let’s take a look at some of the best futures bets and week one best bets.

La Liga Preview: Futures, Best Bet, and More

Who Will Win La Liga this Season?

Real Madrid will be the team to beat, as they have the best squad in the league. They have added Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger to their already strong squad, and they will be looking to win their second consecutive title.

Barcelona will be hoping to challenge Real Madrid for the title, but they will need to improve their defense. They have signed Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, but they still need to sign a top-class center-back. With the loss of Ousmane Dembele, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, it’s yet to be seen if the new signings will be enough.

According to the futures odds for the La Liga champion, Real Madrid is by far the clear favorite. Real Madrid currently sits at +100 to win a second straight title which looks to be great value, especially because of their team additions. They do face some stiff competition this season, and those teams have some great futures odds as well.

So Close, Yet So Far

Atletico Madrid will also be in the mix, as they have a strong squad with a lot of experience. Coach Diego Simeone added Axel Witsel and Rodrigo De Paul to their squad, and they will be hoping to finish in the top four. They were the best team in the second half of last season and finished the year with a 23-8-7 record. They hope to start this season on the same hot run.

Another team that has high hopes for a good season is Sevilla. They added Gonzalo Montiel and Nemanja Gudelj to their squad and expect a finish in the top four. They finished outside of the Top 10 last year but are definitely a team to watch. Valencia is another team to keep an eye on. They hired a new manager, Gennaro Gattuso. Valencia also added Samu Castillejo and Goncalo Guedes to their squad. They finished in 16th place in La Liga last season and expect at least a Top 10 finish.

The Bottom of the Barrel

At the other end of the La Liga league table are newly promoted teams Granada, Alves, and Las Palmas. Granada and Alves are usually in La Liga, so the competition they will face is familiar to them. It’s yet to be seen how Las Palmas will perform, but they did have the best numbers in La Liga 2.

Granada did win La Liga 2 last season, earning their spot in La Liga again. The question isn’t if they will be better or worse than last year but better or worse than their 21-22 La Liga season. There is such a gap in talent between the two divisions that you can’t really compare the two.

One other team that needs to be worried about relegation is Rayo Vallecano. Just two years ago, they made it to the semi-finals of the Copa del Ray. But now their head coach Andoni Iraola is gone, and it’s yet to be seen how new head coach Francisco Rodriguez will perform.

Vallecano lost three of its best players: Fran Garcia, Santi Comesana, and Alejandro Catena. This team has also had a weird off-season, with their front office releasing season tickets and their La Liga team kits just a week before the season starts. Something is off with Rayo Vallecano, so I think you can expect them in a La Liga Relegation battle.
