La Liga refuses to allow FC Barcelona to register new players ahead of the new season. Barca have until August 31 to do so. The club have five new signings and two players who renewed their contracts. La Liga wants them to lower player salaries and offload the likes of Frenkie de Jong. If not, the club will have to apply the fourth economic lever. This lever involves selling a further 24.5% of Barcana Studios for €100m. The lever could be activated as early as Monday. Barcelona's La League campaign starts on August 13.
