Lakers Could Trade Russell Westbrook to Kings, per Exec

Lakers are interested in trading Russell Westbrook. Eastern Conference executive suggests Sacramento Kings could be an option. Kings want to get off Holmes' contract and can deal with Westbrook for one year. The Kings can also get Harrison Barnes and Richaun Holmes. The deal would be worth a 2027 draft pick. It would also include Alex Len and some salary cap filler. They would get rid of Holmes and get a productive veteran.

Westbrook and the Kings have a history. Last season, Sacramento trolled Westbrook by naming him the "Ice Cold Player of the Game" and playing the song "Cold As Ice" every time he missed. Westbrook responded by saying that the team has been one of NBA's worst for the last 14 years.

Lakers could trade Russell Westbrook to Kings. Westbrook is not likely to accept a buyout. This could be his last year in the NBA.  A buy out could cut his career off early. The fact that teams know this about Westbrook might be adding to the difficulty of the trade.
