Lammas wins with late push in Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate Fields

Lammas won the Grade III $100,000 Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate Fields. It was Lammas' fifth win in 18 starts. I’mgonnabesomebody won on the Tapeta Footings synthetic surface. The only other six-figure stakes event run on TapETA is the All American Stakes at the end of May. There are stakes opportunities on tapeta at Woodbine Racetrack in Canada and Gulfstream Park in Florida. The track record for Tapetas is 1:41.95. Lamma finished fifth on turf before winning on it Sept. 17.
