Late Peach Bowl betting line movement swings in Penn State’s favor
Despite late-breaking news about Penn State entering the Peach Bowl without some key players on both sides of the football, the Nittany Lions are actually seeing the betting line swing more in their favor leading up to kickoff in the Peach Bowl.
After opening the day as a 4.5-point favorite against Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl according to the early gameday odds from BetMGM, the late line movement has padded the point spread more in favor of Penn State. Roughly a half hour before kickoff, the line now favors Penn State at -6 according to BetMGM.
Penn State is 9-3 against the spread this season with the only losses against the spread coming against Ohio State and Michigan as an underdog and against Indiana as a favorite. But the Nittany Lions closed out the regular season with two wins against the spread and they were 4-1 ATS away from home this season.
Ole Miss is 6-4-2 ATS this year, and they are 2-2-1 ATS away from home. While Penn State is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games, Ole Miss was just 4-4-2.
The 4.5-point spread in Penn State’s favor is the smallest point spread favoring the Nittany Lions this season. The only other point spread favoring Penn State that was fewer than 14 points was when Penn State was favored by 7.5 points at Maryland. Penn State won by 36 points.
