Latest Odds Released On Eddie Jones' Wallabies Replacement

The latest odds have been released, as to who will be Eddie Jones’ replacement as Australia Head Coach. Jones recently resigned from the role after less than nine months in charge of the Wallabies, following a poor Rugby World Cup campaignwhich saw Australia fail to progress from Pool C.

Defeats to Wales and Fiji sent the Wallabies out of the competition in the pool stages, however Jones’ resignation goes beyond his side’s poor on-field displays. Australia’s Rugby World Cup campaign was overshadowed by rumours, suggesting that the 63-year-old underwent an interview for a role with Japan, despite having signed a five-year deal with Rugby Australia.

Various reports circulated that the former England Head Coach was in communication with the JRFU, just two weeks before beginning the Rugby World Cup campaign with the Wallabies. Jones soon lost the support of the Wallabies fans, after a winless Rugby Championship campaign, and head-scratching selection choices. Australia legends Michael Hooper and Quade Cooper were left out of the Wallabies 33-man Rugby World Cup squad, as were talented halfbacks Noah Lolesio and James O’Connor.

According to OLBG, Leicester Tigers Head Coach and ex-Wallabies assistant Dan McKellar is the 1/2 front-runner to replace Jones while Brumbies Head Coach Stephen Larkham is second-favourite at 4/1. The full list of potential candidates for Eddie Jones’ vacancy reads below.
