Lawmakers to reintroduce 2023 bill

Georgia football fans are excited about the National Championship game on Monday. Sports betting is not legal in Georgia, but some lawmakers plan to renew the push for it in the upcoming legislative session. Opponents believe it could create problems. The Georgia Baptist Mission Board is worried about it setting a bad precedent. The new session starts on January 9th. It's expected to be quickly introduced. State Rep. Ron Stephens supports previous efforts to legalize sports betting inGeorgia. He believes it should be done through a debit card and not a credit card. Mike Griffin is concerned it will lead to crime and addiction issues.
