THE TEAM NEWS

LEIGH LEOPARDS

  • Leigh Leopards claimed their first victory on their return to Super League as they snatched a thrilling win on the road against Hull KR last week.
  • Josh Charnley crossed in the corner in what was the final play of the game to edge his side ahead and Leigh will hold no fear here on the back of that success, although they will be forced into one change with Ben Reynolds sitting out through suspension.

21-man squad: Hardaker, Briscoe, Chamberlain, Leutele, Charnley, Mellor, Lam, Amone, Ipape, Mulhern, Wardle, Hughes, Asiata, Nakubuwai, O’Brien, Davis, Gannon, Nisbet, O’Donnell, Seumanufagai, Shorrocks

Unavailable: Ben Reynolds (Suspended)

Questionable:

ST. HELENS

  • St. Helens were made to pay for ill-discipline last week as they succumbed to defeat against Leeds Rhinos and they will need to produce a much better performance this time out.
  • Saints were below their best in that contest and will now have to deal without the suspended trio of Sione Mata’utia, Curtis Sironen and Konrad Hurrell, although they are able to call upon talisman James Roby.

21-man squad: Welsby, Makinson, Percival, Bennison, Lomax, Dodd, Walmsley, Roby, Lees, Knowles, Lussick, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Paasi, Wingfield, Bell, Norman, Davies, Royle, Baxter, Ritson, Bruines

Unavailable: Will Hopoate (Injured), Sione Mata’utia (Suspended), Curtis Sironen (Suspended), Konrad Hurrell (Suspended)

Questionable: James Roby, Agnatius Paasi

THE PREDICTION

Leigh Leopards got off the mark for the campaign with a last-gap success against Hull KR last week. They now get the chance to have a crack at the champions who come into this on the back of a loss. They were defeated by Leeds Rhinos last week as they failed to cope with a red card as well as two prior sin-bins. Saints were not good enough on the night and will need to be much better here but the return of James Roby could be crucial with the away side expected to make an immediate return to winning ways.
