Bruce's Analysis:

The Kings have a couple of things working against them today at Pittsburgh. First, a quick turnaround from Saturday after a rousing 5-4 fightback win in OT at Boston. Second, catching the Penguins on an emotional day in which long-ago star Jaromir Jagr has his jersey finally retired. This compensates for the 3-1 mark the Kings have recorded since Jim Hiller took over on an interim basis behind the bench. Pittsburgh is also hoping the 4-1 win at Chicago on Thursday kick-starts a uptick to get the Pens back into playoff contention. Play Penguins on Puck Line

Matt's Analysis:

Knew it was time to take a day off from the NHL when both Under 6.5 games I played Thursday saw a single team top that total by itself. I am able now to see through my stubbornness when things are starting to go weird, and it's time to take a quick break. Think the Under on Penguins games will be the smart play while top winger Jake Guentzel is out. The Under is 6-1 in their past seven as it is.

Over / UnderUNDER 6.5 -110

Jeff's Analysis:

The LA Kings have the third-lowest number of shots against them, while the Penguins are ranked 11th in this category. In all games played by LA and Pittsburgh this season, the combined record of the under is 61 wins and 36 losses. When the Penguins have a two-day rest advantage, the under has won 9 times out of 12. In contrast, the under has cashed 5 out of 6 when the Kings play without rest. LA has the best penalty-kill percentage in the league this season, while the Penguins are ranked 11th. Furthermore, the Penguins have committed the fewest penalty minutes in the league, while LA has the fifth-fewest. I have this total at 6!

Jeff's Analysis:

On Saturday, the LA Kings won 5-4 against the Boston Bruins in OT. The game witnessed 76 combined hits, with each team recording 19 blocked shots. The Kings will play their fourth game on the road in six days. This season, they have a poor record of 1-6 when playing without any rest. While the Penguins have the best face-off win percentage, the LA Kings stand at 15th position this season. In the last three years, teams have performed poorly on the day after beating the Boston Bruins. The home team is 8-2 in the past ten meetings. I like the Penguins in this spot!
