Magic vs. Raptors same-game parlay picks: Bet on Toronto to win at home

The Toronto Raptors’ five-game home stand continues with a game against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.

The pregame narrative: The Raptors are likely to secure a win against a team that struggles to perform on the road, Markelle Fultz hasn’t been a reliable source of assists this year and Paolo Banchero has been crashing the boards lately.

NBA odds as of 9:59 a.m. on 02/14/2023.

Magic vs. Raptors same-game parlay

Parlay: Raptors moneyline + Fultz under 6.5 assists + Banchero over 6.5 rebounds (+285)

Raptors moneyline (-278): We’re going to start this parlay off with something that seems fairly safe.

The Raptors have had their struggles this season, but they are 17-13 at home, while the Magic are 10-19 on the road. Toronto lost two consecutive games to the Magic earlier this season, but both came in Orlando. At Scotiabank Arena on December 3 they took care of business, winning 121-108.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a meaningful statistic that gives Orlando an edge over Toronto this year. The Raptors score more, concede fewer points, take better care of the ball and do a better job of staying out of foul trouble.

Orlando has a fiesty group of promising young talent, but this is a team Toronto should be able to handle at home — especially with new addition Jakob Poeltl giving the team the sturdy traditional centre they’ve been missing for a long time. There’s a reason the Raptors are favoured by seven points in this one.

Other parlay legs

Fultz under 6.5 assists (-148): Considering the Magic possess the NBA’s 28th-ranked scoring offence, there aren’t a lot of assists to go around. We’re not expecting a big total from Fultz on Tuesday.

This is an aggressive line considering the guard has six or fewer assists in 70.3% of his games this season. He isn’t on a heater, either, as this under has hit in six of his last seven starts.

The Raptors have a respectable defence that allows the 11th-fewest points in the NBA, so this doesn’t look like a blowup spot for him. He produced exactly four assists in both of his matchups with Toronto this season.

Banchero over 6.5 rebounds (-139): With a 6-foot-10, 250-pound frame, Banchero is built to haul in some boards — and he’s been doing just that lately.

The rookie star has averaged 8.7 rebounds per game in his last nine appearances, hitting this over eight times.

Banchero should be able to keep rolling against a Raptors team that has a middle-of-the-pack rebounding rate (50.1%) and struggles to keep power forwards in line on the glass. According to FantasyPros, the Raptors allow the eighth-most rebounds to the position.
