Magomed Ankalaev vs. Johnny Walker: UFC Fight Night: Magomed Ankalaev vs. Johnny Walker: Breaking down the odds and predictions for the event

After four long weeks, the UFC is back with its first event of 2024.

The UFC will be hosting its first event of 2024 with a rematch of a fight from nearly three months ago that ended in a no-contest. Light heavyweight contenders Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker will run back their original bout, this time in a five-round main event at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

The card also features fan-favorite veteran Jim Miller in the co-main event and 44-year-old former champion Andrei Arlovski. With a couple of additional action-packed matchups and intriguing debuts, UFC Vegas 84 has decently high expectations for the new year.

As a former title challenger, Ankalaev is heavily favored to get his hand raised on Jan. 13th against Walker. However, though the odds on the Russian are sky-high, he is not the biggest favorite on the card.

Making his UFC debut, Jean Silva is the sportsbooks' most expected winner at UFC Vegas 84. Silva is a -950 favorite against Westin Wilson, who is 0-1 in the octagon with the one loss against Joanderson Brito.

Opening the main card, Waldo Cortes-Acosta is also a wide favorite at -750 against Arlovski. Miller — the other veteran over 40 on the card — is priced at -148 against Gabriel Benitez.

With the opening fight card right around the corner, all fight odds are nearing their closing odds.
