Mariners look for long-term success behind Julio Rodríguez
Mariners signed Julio Rodríguez to a contract. The team hopes Rodgens will be the next Mike Trout. Trout has been a great player but has not been able to play in the playoffs. Seattle has a better chance of making the postseason than the Angels. The Halos are 26 games behind first place and have a farm system that ranks last. They have struggled to surround Trout with sustainable talent. Félix Hernández had a similar problem with that. He was a Hall of Famer, but he never played in October.
