Maryland football vs. No. 2 Ohio State preview

Maryland football is in the midst of a two-game losing streak. The Terps are 6-2 after a 6th-place start. No. 2 Ohio State comes to College Park on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Ohio State is undefeated and the champion of the Big Ten Conference. They play Maryland at home. If they win, they will play Michigan for a place in the championship game.  

C.J. Stroud is a Heisman candidate and one of the best quarterbacks in the Big Ten. Marvin Harrison Jr. is an absolute superstar receiver at the collegiate level and projects to be the same in NFL. Miyan Williams is the team's leading rusher with 800 yards and 13 touchdowns. Tommy Eichenberg is one the Buckeyes' best defenders.  Ohio State beat Maryland 66-17 last year. The team is ranked No. 2 in this year's Big 10.

No. 2 Ohio State has the second-best offense in the nation, behind only Tennessee. It averages 46.8 points per game.

Ohio State's rushing defense is the team's weak spot. The team allows over 110 rushing yards per game.

Maryland is playing Ohio State on Saturday afternoon. The team has struggled recently and is looking for a win. It would be encouraging if the team can compete at a high level.

Maryland's run defense has been exposed to some horrific run games by Wisconsin and Penn State. Ohio State's strength is its passing attack.

Tagovailoa was held to under 100 passing yards in back-to-back games. Since he returned from injury, he hasn't looked like the same player. He has another opportunity to change that narrative against Ohio State this weekend.
