As usual, the Maui Invitational has one of the best fields in college basketball. Three of the top four teams in the country will be in Hawaii — No. 1 Kansas, No. 2 Purdue and No. 4 Marquette.

Not as usual, the tournament has been relocated to Honolulu while the Lahaina Civic Center is used for the Maui wildfire recovery. The tournament begins Monday, Nov. 20. Here are our Maui Invitational best bets, along with the best college basketball promos available:

2023 Maui Invitational odds for Kansas, Purdue, Marquette and more

Two more Top 25 teams are participating: No. 7 Tennessee and No. 11 Gonzaga. Two other traditional powerhouses, UCLA and Syracuse, join the field along with host Chaminade, of Division II.

Seven of the eight teams are undefeated; Chaminade is 1-2.

According to the tournament website, this year’s field has 263 NCAA Tournament appearances and 17 NCAA Tournament championships.

Two of the nation’s best big men will be on display — Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson and Purdue’s Zach Edey. They could go head-to-head in the championship game.

Marquette has one of the top guards in Kam Jones. Each is capable of leading their team to the championship.

The best games of the first day might be Gonzaga vs. Purdue, and Marquette vs. UCLA.

2023 Maui Invitational Best Bets: Kansas to win (+175 or better)

The Jayhawks are coming off a hard-fought win over Kentucky. In addition to Dickinson, Kevin McCullar Jr. (18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists) is a 6-foot-7 defensive force at guard who has provided a nearly unstoppable balance to the Kansas offense.

Dickinson averages 19.5 points on 65.2 percent shooting. He has a powerful inside game and isn’t afraid to take an occasional three-pointer (he’s 4-for-4 this season).

Experience counts, and Kansas is expertly coached by Bill Self, who has won two national titles with the Jayhawks. We like the Jayhawks to win it all.

If you’re looking for a long shot, consider Marquette at +500. College basketball often favors a strong backcourt and the Golden Eagles are rich in guards. Marquette already has a win on the road over nationally ranked Illinois this season. Marquette creates mismatches in the backcourt with Jones (19.3 points) and Tyler Kolek (14.7 points).

UCLA has long odds at +2000. The Bruins are talented but young. They could be a factor later in the season but probably not now in Hawaii. Seven freshmen are on the Bruins’ roster. Sophomore Adem Bona is the Bruins’ leading scorer (18.0) and rebounder (8.7).

Monday’s Schedule:

  • Game 1: Syracuse vs. Tennessee, 2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2
  • Game 2: Gonzaga vs. Purdue, 5 p.m. ET, ESPN2
  • Game 3: Kansas vs. Chaminade, 9 p.m. ET, ESPNU
  • Game 4: Marquette vs. UCLA, 11:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2

The field will be broken into winners’ and losers’ brackets on Tuesday, with the championship game on Wednesday.
