Meet the BUCS Super Rugby standouts who now call Bristol Bears home

Bristol Bears signed Martin Mulhall, Rhys Charalambous and Fred Davies in April. They are front-row forwards who played in BUCS Super Rugby last season. The trio came from Swansea, Leeds Beckett and Durham University. They all have similar stories of how they came to play for Bristol. All three are housemates in Portishead. Their coach Pat is happy that one of them was rated higher than him. He is coming to Bristol on Monday. It was good for Pat that he was ranked higher. Both players were invited to the High-Performance Centre. After that they trained with the side over Christmas.

Rhys Charalambous, Mike Mulhall and Alex Dombrandt are studying rugby at Leeds Beckett University. They are looking forward to playing professional rugby for the first time. BUCS Super Rugby has become a regular route for players looking to take the step up.  Fitz Harding, Harry Randall and Christ Tshiunza are recent successes. At Bristol, Fitz Harding and HarryRandall were regulars in the competition. Alex Dominck is at Harlequins. Harleyquin and Exeter Chiefs’ Christ Dominick are also recent successes. The league is expanding. It can be used as a breeding ground for rugby players.

Martin Mulhall represented Saracens in the Premiership Rugby Cup last season while still attending Swansea University. He has recently joined fellow Premiership side Northampton Saints. Charalambous plays for National Two West side Clifton. He is excited to join the likes of Kyle Sinckler, Ellis Genge and other big stars at Bristol Bears. They have already got KyleSincklers at tighthead and EllisGenge at loosehead.
