Mets vs. Rockies prediction and odds for Saturday, May 27 (Back OVER

The Mets won the first of three in Colorado, overpowering the Rockies with a standout pitching performance,

Can New York get another strong from its staff with Justin Verlander on the mound? It's been an up and down year for the right hander, but is off a strong start against the Guardians in which he allowed one earned run in eight innings. Can he follow it up in the always dangerous altitude of Colorado?

Here are the odds for Saturday's matchup:

It's tough to trust Verlander as a massive road favorite at Coors Field given that he has been crushed by hard contact this season. In just four starts this season, he has allowed five home runs and now has to start in the most hitter friendly ball park in baseball.

However, the Mets offense should be up to the task of knocking around righty Chase Anderson. The newly acquired Rockies pitcher allowed eight hits in his last start, but managed to work around trouble and only allow two earned runs against the Marlins.

The Mets will be more opportunistic, though, the team is hitting .261 over the last 15 days and has the best power hitter in baseball looming in Pete Alonso. Alonso has a big league high 19 home runs and 45 runs batted in this season.

New York has the noted lineup advantage, but Verlander's home run rate concerns me at this park, so I'll side with the over between two offenses that may have a big night at the dish.
