Senga has at least six strikeouts in four of his first five starts, often frustrating hitters with his infamous ghost fork pitch.

The right-hander has an elite 53.5 percent whiff rate on that offering per Statcast and now draws a favorable matchup that could well help him continue racking up the Ks.

The Rockies have a 26.0 percent strikeout rate and just a .281 wOBA against right-handed pitching on the road, and with their hitters being unfamiliar with Senga, they should be at even more of a disadvantage.

Marte has gotten off to an atypically rough start at the plate this season, but there are indicators he’s run into some very tough luck, and he’s also in a very favorable matchup Friday.

Marte has just a .228/.310/.297 slash line in 113 plate appearances, yet he’s been victimized by a .208 BABIP (batting average on balls in play) against right-handed pitching despite having just a 13.4 percent strikeout rate in that split.

Marte is a career .291 hitter against righties and has compiled 348 extra-base hits in that span, which make up just under 33.0 percent of his hits in the sample.

He’s also pounded Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela for a .636 average over 12 career plate appearances, a sample that includes a double and a homer along with zero strikeouts.

Senzatela is also making his first start at the big-league level since August after completing his recover from an ACL tear, which could certainly lead to some rust.

Even with his struggles this season, Marte is averaging just over one total base per game (30 in 28 contests), and he posted 218 in 118 games during his first Mets season in 2022.

Volpe has slotted out of either end of the lineup thus far during his rookie season, which has limited his RBI opportunities. However, this prop helps us capitalize on three statistical categories overall at a decent price.

Volpe has started to get the hang of big-league pitching the more reps he’s gotten, as he was hitting .323 (10-for-31) over a nine-game stretch prior to a 0-for-4 performance against the Guardians on Wednesday.

He’d recorded five RBI and runs apiece during that span as well, and he has 45 combined hits, runs and RBI over 32 games thus far.

A matchup against the elite Rays pitching staff is never palatable, but this combo prop gives us a fighting chance of hitting.
